Asset Condition

Please refer to the individual lot description for asset condition. All lots have pictures assigned to them. These should be taken as a guide only. Assets included in this sale may be used, therefore inspection is highly recommended prior to bidding. If classed as 'Used' the asset may have experienced moderate to heavy usage by consumers and have not been tested to ensure that they function according to the manufacturer's specifications. Some individual items may show signs of wear common with used items and in some instances accessories may vary from the standard (for example, software or manuals may be missing or different, no original packaging). (As per the bidders agreement that you have agreed to)Photos, descriptions and conditions reports (if any) should be used as a guide only. Bids on assets in this sale should be made based on your own inspection and assessment of the assets.

Payment

Invoice totals exceeding $10,000 must be paid by direct deposit within 2 days of auction closing. For invoices totalling in excess of $10,000 GraysOnline reserves the right to charge a deposit against the purchaser’s credit card to a maximum of $10,000 or 20% of the invoice total. Online Auction Closing

Typically, auctions are over at their posted times. There are some exceptions to this, however, if there are any successful bids on a particular lot within 10 minutes of the close of the online auction (the “Going, Going, Gone! Period), it will be extended until there are no successful bids within the Refresh Period""."There is no limit to the number of times an online auction can be extended. This makes GraysOnline work more like a live auction where the bidding doesn’t stop as long as there is still interest in the product, rather than assigning an arbitrary cut-off time. This means it is a good idea to watch the action as the auction nears closing time and to check back often.(Refer to Bidders Agreement for full details of “Going, Going, Gone” period)

Warranty & Registration

Warranty

Please be advised in the state of Western Australia when purchasing a vehicle through auction you will not have statutory warranty, cooling-off period or Roadworthy Certificate. Manufacturers warranties will still apply to a vehicle as per their terms and conditions, you will have to go directly to the manufacturer with the claim not GraysOnline. The balance of a new car warranty will also apply to vehicles sold at auction. No other warranties will be provided.

Registration

As registration and ownership requirements vary from state to state buyers should familiarise themselves with the registration requirements of the state in which the vehicle will be registered. As is standard auction practice the buyer is responsible for state transfer fees, duties etc. that may apply. Please note: Please note: If sold unregistered then the number plates will be removed. If sold with registration, the registration can only be transferred in the state where that registration is held, otherwise it will be sold unregistered and the number plates will be removed. Please check the lot description for each vehicle.

For WA registration, once your invoice is paid, you’ll need to visit a motor registry with:

  • Your paid Graysonline invoice accompanied with the completed MR9”Notification of change of Ownership” supplied and completed by Graysonline.
  • Proof of identity. If you’re registering the vehicle in the name of a company or organisation you will need to also provide proof that it is a legal entity.
  • Application of Transfer of Registration formYou may need to pay for:
  • General Registration Charges
  • Stamp Duty
  • Number Plates
  • You are required to transfer registration within 7 days of sale date. Please note an approved engine immobiliser must be installed and operational. At the time of registration transfer, this is the responsibility of the purchaser.

Bids on assets in this sale should be made based on your inspection and assessment of the assets. While we have endeavoured to provide correct asset details, “Descriptions, photographs & data forms (If Attached in lot) should be used as a guide only, assets are sold as is, where is basis. If you are unsure please do not bid, as no refunds will be given”.

As with standard auction practice, the vehicles may be inspection and started during inspection but not driven

Collection Terms

The removal of the goods is the buyer's responsibility.Pick up can only be made once cleared funds are received. Purchasers cannot pick up until full invoice is paid. Goods can only be released with the correct information being supplied which includes Sale number, Lot number/s and Buyers name. Assets can be collected on Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, within 5 business days of auction close (excluding Public Holidays). To collect your purchases please attend the collection address during the times advised with a copy of your winner’s e-mail and photo ID. A copy of your invoice will be on site with GraysOnline staff to assist in documenting the removal process.

Assets must be removed from Grays' site within 5 days of auction close.

Assets that are not picked up within the allowed timeframe will be subject to storage fees, in line with our Terms and Conditions and as communicated to you at the time of purchase and payment.

Once assets are removed the transaction between GraysOnline and the bidder is deemed complete. There will be no recourse beyond this time, even in the event of third party collections. If you are unsure please refrain from bidding.

Important Information: Please note it is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure the safe removal of their lots. Provide suitably qualified personnel to remove their lots. Some lots may be electrically hard wired or services such as air, water, gas or oil may still be connected. Occupational Health and Safety regulations apply to this site. Any questions regarding the removal of any lots should be directed to the enquiries name or phone number indicated on sale web page.

For Interstate Buyers or 3rd Party collections you will have a one week grace period from the date of purchase stated on the invoice. Assets that are not picked up within the allowed timeframe will be subject to storage fees, in line with our Terms and Conditions and as communicated to you at the time of purchase and payment.

  • Any item that is remaining uncollected within a suitable time frame will be deemed abandoned.

Third Party Collection

If you intend to send a Third Party to collect your goods on your behalf, you need to send them with a copy of your Winner’s E-mail and Signed Note of Authority permitting GraysOnline staff to release your purchases to the third party. Alternatively, Email with the required information to ensure a speedy and efficient collection. The information needed is:

  • Sale and Lot Numbers e.g. 0002-9004535
  • Buyer’s Registered Name and/or Email
  • Transport details: Company Name, Contact Person and Job Number provided by the transport company.

Important Rules

  • As this is an industrial site, site entry conditions must be adhered to as well as inspection terms and conditions.
  • It is a condition of entry that all persons entering the site comply with any directions given by GraysOnline staff, their representatives or the site controller.
  • It is condition of entry that all persons conduct themselves in a manner which does not endanger the health and safety of other persons onsite and which does not create a risk to health and safety

Site Access

  • Must walk in designated walkways until you enter car park where general car park rules apply
  • No open toe shoes
  • No animals allowed onsite
  • All children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times
  • No alcohol onsite
  • Smoking in designated areas only
  • Inspection terms and conditions
  • A valid driver’s license is required in order to obtain keys
  • Vehicles can be started, but not driven
  • Anyone found driving vehicles will have the keys taken off them, have their licensed returned and asked to leave the premises
  • No excessive revving of vehicles

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • GraysOnline will specify, according to the hazards and risks assessed as present on the site, any mandatory PPE required to be worn prior gaining approval to entry to the site. This equipment may include Safety Footwear, Safety Eyewear, Hearing Protection, and Head Protection, or any other item of PPE deemed necessary

How can I reduce some of the risks of buying at auction?

Knowledge is the key. Do your homework on the value and model prior to bidding on what vehicle you want. Set your limit. Read the Lot description in full because every car is different and the description give you some insight into the specifications / details of the vehicle. We are selling the vehicle with no warranty and no cooling off period and in an “As Is” “Where Is” condition. Please review the following questions to help you to unlock value from buying in an online auction.

Is Inspection of the vehicle necessary?

Yes!!! We highly recommend that you inspect the vehicle on the nominated day. Please refer to the inspection tab. Please bring a valid driver’s license in order to obtain keys. Please note that the vehicles can be started, but not driven. If you wish to arrange a 3rd party inspection with State Roads or a Mechanic, please call 08 6361 6314 to speak to a member of the Auto Team.

Can I test drive the vehicle?

No. Unfortunately Health and Safety limitations mean that bidders are not able to test-drive vehicles and we are not covered by insurance.

Should I get more information about the car before I bid?

Yes!! We do our best to honestly report the condition of each vehicle; however the Vehicle Description is based on an external walk around and engine start-up. However, there may be other damage, mechanical issues or body blemishes that have not been sighted or contained in our assessment.We always recommend a full inspection, by yourself, a 3rd party (such as RACQ or State Roads) or a qualified mechanic. Have we checked if there is a WOVR Record or Finance owing on the vehicle?
