The Miles Family Established Irvine Wines in the 1980’s with the goal of putting South Australian Fruit on the forefront on the wine world. And 40 years later they have cemented themselves as not only growers but prized winemakers of Barossa and Eden Valleys. The Fruit for the ‘Estate’ Shiraz comes from their aptly named Estate Vineyard in the Eden Valley and is a fantastic example of a cooler climate Shiraz. Fruits of the Forest on display with this wine, sweet and sour cherries, and a more elegant tannin and acid structure than typical of the region. A wine able to be enjoyed on its own or pair with some cured meat and cheese.

A plush Eden Valley shiraz sporting a deep hue and notes of blackberry and dark cherry fruit with hints of fine spice, tobacco, sage, bay leaf, briar, licorice, macerated summer berry fruits and some vaguely musky spice tones way in the distance. There is some nice texture and depth to the fruit, the tannins fine, sandy and supple, and there's a sweep of sour cherry and earth on the medium-length finish.- Dave Brookes
