BERLIN WALL FRAGMENT FROM WEST GERMAN FACING GRAFFITI ART SECTION IN CUSTOM DISPLAY CASE
- An important piece of history, this is an original fragment of the Berlin Wall.
- This particular fragment also contains a piece of the famous Berlin Wall graffiti art.
- Mounted in a custom acrylic display case.
- Following the culmination of the Cold War, the Berlin Wall which had long served as a barrier between the Soviet controlled East Berlin, and Western Allied controlled West Berlin was finally demolished by the civilians who flocked to the wall to celebrate the removal of their segregation.
- People from East Berlin visited the wall to celebrate, and most famously began to knock away chunks of the wall symbolising the ultimate fall of Communism in Central and Eastern Europe.
- The art on the Berlin Wall was a form of rebellion against the repression and division the wall brought to the everyday lives of Berliners.
- It was a way for artists to express their contempt for the wall and its meaning.
- Much of the artwork was not claimed by artists and remains anonymous.
- Because the wall was open to everyone, there were no restrictions on what artists could put on the wall.
- The West Berlin side of the wall had artwork completely covering the wall, while the East Berlin side was kept blank because people were not permitted to get close enough to the east side of the wall to paint anything.

Please Note: Your goods will be delivered to your registered address. We do delivery Australia wide except for a few remote territories, please check the shipping calculator to confirm delivery availability and timeframes.

We accept the following methods of Payment:
Credit Card
- 1.2% surcharge applies to Mastercard & VISA transactions
- 0.7% surcharge applies to Debit card transactions
- 2.5% surcharge applies to American Express transactions
- No other cards are accepted
- Invoices totalling less than $10,000 will be automatically debited from the card nominated within your account
- Invoices totalling in excess of $10,000 can be paid in-person at any Grays office
PayPal
- 1.2% surcharge applies to PayPal transactions
- Only accepted for invoices totalling less than $10,000 where elected as your preferred payment method within your account
EFT (Direct Deposit)
- For invoices totalling in excess of $10,000. Payment must be made in full within two business days of the auction closing.
- Please ensure to state your invoice number as the payment reference and email proof of the remittance to accountsreceivable@grays.com.au
- As EFT transfers can take up to 2 business days to clear, please contact Grays prior to collecting your purchase to confirm receipt of clear funds
