A medium garnet color with slight brick-red tinges at the rim, indicating its age. The wine is clear and exhibits good intensity, reflecting its maturity.

Nose:

The nose is inviting and complex, featuring aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry, raspberry, and plum. There are subtle notes of dried herbs, earthiness, and a hint of leather that speak to the wine’s development. As it opens, you may also detect nuances of spice and tobacco, along with a touch of floral elegance.

Palate:

On the palate, this Sangiovese is medium-bodied with a bright acidity that lifts the rich fruit flavors. The taste profile features juicy cherry and plum, complemented by earthy undertones and hints of savory herbs. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, providing a smooth texture while maintaining structure. A subtle spice note, likely from oak aging, adds depth to the overall flavor experience.

Established in 1984 by the infamous restauranteur LeonMassoni and legendary winemaker Ian Homes, founder of Yellowglen. In 1996-2000with the assistance of the Ursini family, we established the GlenKara Estatevineyard in the Victorian Pyrenees Ranges, boasting the largest vineyard in theregion (269ha). In 2006, we purchased the Mt Eliza Estate vineyard (8.9ha) onthe Mornington Peninsula.

Currently, all wines are made at the Dromana winery. Massonispecializes in making wines that stand the test of time. With many of ourPyrenees wines being released with 2-3 years of bottle age.

Over the last 19 years, we have focused on making wines thatour clients want to enjoy with their family and friends.
