Appearance:

A deep garnet color with subtle brick hues on the rim, showing some signs of aging. The wine has excellent clarity and intensity, indicative of its structure and development over time.

Nose:

The nose is complex and inviting, opening with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and ripe plum, characteristic of the Cabernet component. These are complemented by the peppery spice and dark cherry notes from the Shiraz. As the wine breathes, layers of cedar, tobacco, and subtle mint emerge, along with earthy undertones of dried herbs, leather, and hints of vanilla and clove from oak aging.

Palate:

On the palate, this blend offers a rich, full-bodied experience. The Cabernet brings firm tannins and structured dark fruit—blackcurrant, cassis, and plum—while the Shiraz softens the edges with its juicy red and black fruits, like cherry and blackberry, and adds a signature spice of black pepper. There’s a nice interplay between the fruit and secondary flavors of leather, tobacco, and a touch of dark chocolate. The tannins, softened with age, are well-integrated, creating a smooth and balanced mouthfeel with refreshing acidity that lifts the wine.

Finish:

The finish is long and layered, with persistent notes of dark fruit, cedar, and a hint of smoky oak. The wine’s tannins, though mature, still provide structure, while the earthy and spicy notes leave a satisfying, elegant aftertaste.
