McGuigan Family Release Shiraz Cabernet 2018 (6x 750mL) SEA

Description:

VINTAGE CONDITIONS

The fruit for this wine was harvested and selected from vineyards in the Riverland region. With ideal conditions for vintage, yields were good and the fruit was in excellent condition. The climate is hot with high evaporation rates and generally low rainfall, making irrigation essential. The climate is also continental, resulting in long sunny days and noticeably cooler nights. Long sunshine hours ensure fruit ripens fully and low relative humidity results in little incidence of disease.

WINEMAKING

The grapes were crushed and de-stemmed where it was then fermented on oak at cooler temperatures for 5 to 7 days. The majority of the wine is then matured in stainless steel tanks. Post-fermentation, the components are then selected, blended and clarified allowing the winemaker to create this smooth, fruit-dense wine.

Winery Tasting Notes

Notes Image

This Shiraz Cabernet shows rich deep colour of red with purple and black hues. Aromas of smoky oak is interspersed with dark berry fruit, hints of leak and chocolate. This wine has a full palate, with sweet dark berry fruits, and peppery spice which is balanced out with oak to provide lingering acid and soft tannin structure.
