Winery Tasting Notes

Pale straw yellow. Opens with ripe white peach, fig and stone fruits with accents of wild honey and native wild flowers. These are supported by fresh hay aromas and toasty vanilla complexities from wild fermentation and partial oak maturation. Full bodied, layers of flavour build across the palate that reflect not only the fruit but the use of wild fermentation, malolactic fermentation and ageing on yeast lees. On the palate, the slightest hint of oak comes through as a hint of toast and vanilla, highlighting the complexity derived from barrel matured reserve wine. Balanced acidity gives the wine thrust through to the refreshing finish.

Oxford Landing Estates was established in 1958 on the banks of the mighty Murray River in South Australia amidst bountiful sunshine, vivid blue skies and plenty of red Riverland soil.

From planting vines to making wines, Oxford Landing Estates takes great pride in their people – some having spent their whole life on the Murray. They are part of a community who are unashamedly passionate about the vineyards, grapes and working together to ensure the wine going into the bottle is what they envisaged.

“Our group of dedicated vineyard staff live on-site and nearby. It’s their care and attention to detail that sets the basis for Oxford Landing Estates wine quality,” says Vineyard Manager Robert ‘Fred’ Strachan.
