Founded in 1987 by an old family of winemakers, Paolo and Giorgio Polegato’s Astoria prides itself on the quality of its products.

Forty acres, located in one of the most beautiful wine-growing areas in Italy, renowned for its climate, highlight the harmonious succession of hills and vineyards.

Grown on the flat and hilly (at 150-200 m. above sea level) areas of the North-Eastern regions of Italy. The grapes are harvested by hand in September and are de-stemmed and crushed. The crushed grapes undergo fermentation /maceration, which lasts 5/6 days at a temperature of 24/25° C; then the wine is drawn from the marc and undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Then it is cleared and stabilised, and is allowed to age a couple of months after bottling.

This delicious Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) is incredibly youthful and vibrant – great value too! The attractive, bright bouquet is really open and is packed with strawberry and raspberry aromas. On the palate, Caranto Pinot Noir has plenty of crunchy red fruit, a touch of earthy spice, a light and elegant structure and a fresh fruity finish. Great served cool for summertime drinking.
