Redbank Emily Brut Cuvee NV (6 x 750mL) King Valley, VIC

Description:

Our home is the cool climate King Valley in Victoria’s high country. We use parcels of fruit from our own estate vineyards, complemented by grapes from a dedicated family of independent growers, to create the finest sparkling wines. A fresh, elegant wine crafted from the classic blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Emily is a blend of more than one vintage, resulting in a consistent style each year.

Winemaking

All aspects of winemaking are focussed on maintaining a refreshing, crisp sparkling wine with delicate flavour. The grapes are harvested and gently pressed to minimise phenolics, and then fermented to produce a classic base wine. After blending and ageing on yeast lees, the final blend is tank fermented and expedition liqueur is added.

Winery Tasting Notes

Notes Image

It's all about the primary crunch of (mostly) cool King Valley Chardonnay, alluding to aromas and flavours of nashi, kaffir lime and lemon. Fruity and friendly appeal of cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is balanced by red apple and pear fruit with lemon tang and taut acidity in a clean, primary blend of refreshing integrity and great value.

Winery Profile

Redbank Winery was established by Neill & Sally Robb in the Pyrenees region of Central Victoria in 1973.

It is distinctly Australian and is named after the small town of Redbank situated three kilometers to the north. It is located 2 hours north-west of Melbourne in the heart of the Pyrenees range.

Redbank Winery has established a reputation for producing wines of excellent quality, consistency and value. The winery is 18kms north of Avoca on the Sunraysia Highway.

Neill & Sally planted their first vines in 1973; which consisted of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec varieties. Today there are 18 hectares (45 acres) under vine, which produce exceptional quality grapes. The original vineyard of Sally’s Paddock, named after Neill’s wife Sally, is still a non-irrigated single vineyard that continues to deliver a wine of wonderful complexity and depth.

In 1975, using local century old hand made red bricks, Neill built our steep-gabled winery, known as Redbank Winery. This today provides a fabulous ambiance to taste the wines and also enjoy the delicious hand made dishes, at the Flying Pig Deli.

After 37 years of operation, Redbank Winery continues to be wholly owned and operated by Neill & Sally Robb.

Sally’s Paddock is proudly listed as ‘Distinguished’ on the Langton’s Classification of Distinguished Australian Wine. The Sally’s Paddock has been listed in their catalogue since it’s inception. Langton’s Classification is now a cornerstone of the ultra-fine Australian wine market. It is based on the actual buying patterns of their clients (over 6000 active members). Thus it transcends personal agendas, pompous glorifications and endless accolades.
