Wonderful fruit definition, purity and precision

Medium deep crimson. Magnificent pure blackberry blackberry dark chocolate aromas with vanilla roasted chestnut notes. Beautifully concentrated and inky deep with beautiful pure dark berry fruits fine slinky animated tannins and perfectly integrated new mocha, vanilla oak. Finishes classically firm with superb mineral length. Very seductive and impressive with a beautiful scent of place. Wonderful fruit definition, purity and precision with the density and torque for long term aging. Almost perfect symmetry. Drink 2028 - 2050

A case is sent in a wooden box. Deep red in colour with purple hues. Alluring aromas of dark red cherries, red licorice and red raspberries. Aromatically, this is a distinctive wine with red, blue and violet fruits. Everything combines on the palate to give generous, cool, rich flavours, combining the freshness of Eden Valley with the depth of Barossa Valley. Perfectly balanced, elegant and quite simply a beautiful expression of Barossa Shiraz.

Family-owned and run by Robert Hill Smith, Yalumba has long had a commitment to quality and has shown great vision in its selection of vineyard sites, new varieties and brands. It has always been a serious player at the top end of full-bodied (and full-blooded) Australian reds, and was the pioneer in the use of screwcaps. While its estate vineyards are largely planted to mainstream varieties, it has taken marketing ownership of viognier. However, these days its own brands revolve around the Y Series and a number of stand-alone brands across the length and breadth of SA. Yalumba has been very successful in building its export base. Exports to all major markets.
