Alta Moda uses top grain Italian cowhides on all of their suites. As a result you may see scratches, insect bites, and scarring. These are not defects but in fact confirm that this is a high quality, top grain hide. There will be a distinct leather smell when you first unpackage your sofa but it will disappear over time.

It is not recommended that armrests and tops of backrests are used for seating. These structures are designed for their intended purpose only and may not sustain excessive weight. Abuse of your sofa may invalidate your warranty.

To ensure the longevity of your premium Alta Moda product, avoid placing your sofa in direct sunlight or close to heat sources as this can fade and dry out the leather causing it to crack or rapidly deteriorate. Some medications and radium treatments, through perspiration, can cause leather to deteriorate or discolour. Some medications specify this. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, consult your healthcare professional. Pets can leave oils from their fur on the leather which can cause the surface to discolour and deteriorate. It is highly recommended that you do not let your pets on your Alta Moda sofa.

Over time your sofa may show signs of use. Springs, foams, webbing, fillings, and the leather itself will loosen and soften over time and associated ‘comfort creases’ may appear. Like an expensive jacket or pair of shows, leather will ‘wear in’ rather than wear out. This is considered normal for a leather sofa.

Your Alta Moda sofa comes with:

A 5 year frame warranty – all frames (the materials that hold the structure of the sofa) are warranted for a period of 5 years. This warranty does not cover accidental damage from moving the sofa and/or using the sofa for commercial purposes.

A 3 year fillings warranty – all fillings, webbing, stitching, and springs are warranted for a period of 3 years. This warranty does not cover accidental damage, improper use, improper cleaning and/or using the sofa for commercial purposes. On pillow-top design sofas loss of resilience of foams, webbing, and fillings is a normal part of these designs and is not covered by warranty.

A 3 year leather warranty – all leather coverings are warranted for a period of 3 years. This warranty does not cover accidental or deliberate damage through misuse or incorrect care. Regular cleaning and maintenance is required to keep this warranty valid.

This is a pick up sale. Collection is the responsibility of the purchaser. Collection is only possible once full payment has been received and a paid invoice has been issued.

To collect your purchases please bring a copy of your winner’s e-mail and photo ID. If you intend to send a third party to collect your goods on your behalf, you need to send them with a copy of your winner’s e-mail along with a photocopy of your photo ID and signed note of authority permitting Grays staff to release your purchases to the third party.

Alta Moda sofa frames are constructed from fir wood, multi-layer MDF, metal, or a combination of these materials. Fir wood is a superior timber compared to pine in terms of stability and strength. Fir is less prone to warping as it will expand and contract as it absorbs moisture but it always returns to the same shape. This is a prized quality for carpenters as under the same conditions pine tends to swell and can twist out of its original shape.

All wood used in Alta Moda sofas is sourced from sustainable, environmentally conscious and certified suppliers. The wood is carefully selected and then treated using non-toxic and environmentally safe methods.

These sofas use Italian support strapping that is wider than many others on the market. It is densely woven in a criss-cross fashion and fastened to the internal frame structure. This system provides even weight distribution and ensures the durability of both comfort and appearance.

Alta Moda’s designers select from numerous high density foams to best complement each model. The determining factors for foam selection are based on the angle of the back cushion, the surface area of the seat, the thickness of the foams, and the overall aesthetic objective so that the design has continuity.

The most suitable foams are selected to maximise your sitting experience. Many other sofa manufacturers are not quite as fastidious as Alta Moda on this point and will use generic foams across all of their models to save cost. Our sofas use an eco-friendly polyurethane foam produced in Italy using water-based techniques without any harmful polluting agents. This method results in a bacteria-free product that is safe for your home.
